Another bit of maybe sort of news to keep the speculation fires burning as we await Clinton’s announcement of her running mate.
I’m still firmly on Team Warren, so forgive me if I’m reading too much into it, but the news has been dripping out-
First we find that Clinton is likely to announce after the Republican convention but before our own. Then we find that she will be in Florida Friday and Saturday. We learned that she was in several meetings, including one with Senator Warren, over the weekend.
So what does a likely announcement in Florida mean? Speculation abounds. Obviously we’re talking top-tier swing state here. Perhaps the location was chosen to emphasize Latinx voters? Retirees? Just set the flag down in Florida while the Republican convention leaves Ohio wanting no more Republican presence for the foreseeable future?
Who knows?
What we do know, though, is that Senator Warren will be speaking at The National Council of La Raza in Orlando on Saturday as reported on July 5.
This will be the first time in forty years that a Presidential candidate will not be addressing the conference, but maybe they’re getting the next best thing?
If Warren is indeed the pick and is to be announced in Florida on Friday, what better way to hit the ground running than outreach of this kind her very first day on the job? At the very least, another interesting piece of the puzzle that we can all obsess over rather than just waiting a few days to find out the real answer.
